"The tradition of noticing 26 January began early in the nineteenth century with Sydney almanacs referring to First Landing Day or Foundation Day. That was the day in 1788 Captain Arthur Phillip, commander of the First Fleet of eleven convict ships from Great Britain and the first governor of New South Wales, arrived at Sydney Cove. The raising of the Union Jack there symbolised British occupation of the eastern half of the continent claimed by Captain James Cook on 22 August in 1770."
Setiap kali Australia day akan diadakan pertunjukkan bunga api pada sebelah malam..tahun ni first time lah kami rase cam nak g tengok bunga api..bukan nak tgk sgt pon..saje nak bwk aqiel tengok supaya dia tau apa itu fireworks..tahun lepas dia kecik lagi..mungkin tak ade perasaan kalau tgk pon..tahun ni mmg aqiel teruja tgk fireworks..kami mmg pegi lambat..event start kul 8mlm..kul 8mlm baru kami bertolak dari rumah..heheh..so bila dah nak dkat smpi mmg dah nampak firework dari dlm kereta..aqiel dah start excited..aqiel ckp 'mama look..' aqiel tak pasti apa yg meletup2 tu..bila kami ckp tu fireworks..baru aqiel bg tau..'look..look..fireworks'..heheh.. setiap kali fireworks tu meletup dia jerit suruh tgk..bila papa dah parking kete kat area south perth..kami pon jalan ke arah org ramai2 tgk fireworks..sempatlah tgk dlm 15 minit..event abis dlm kul 8.30mlm..ok lah..bagi pengalaman kat aqiel tgk n kenal what is fireworks..;)
